What is stress?
You heard things like that –
Stress is this horrible legacy from when humans were hunted by animals or other human predators.
And that whenever we feel what we call stress or feel stressed out, it’s just this unfortunate invasion of something that we no longer need in modern life.
And gosh, what an unfortunate thing.
That this was designed for when we were being attacked by bears or tigers or lions or whatever it is.
Stress was a very useful thing a long time ago.
And we’re so comfortable today, but we haven’t eliminated that stress.
And stressful situations kill you and destroy your body and your brain.
And this is not happening because you no longer need to run away from predators or hunting.
You know very well the modern replacement of these, maybe your boss, or ex or bad news on TV.
And you can feel it.
So, how does exercising reduce your stress?
Getting stressed out.
How does exercising reduce stress?
What are you doing?
Are you getting away from this?
I am not talking about escaping reality through drinking, drugs, games, and chocolate muffins.
I’m really about running literally (on the treadmill?)
You need to understand something about the biology of how your body and brain work together.
When we feel something, whether or not we’re super happy or just feeling kind of pleasant or we are feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed, it isn’t just in our heads. It’s also in our bodies.
And the brain controls the body, but the body is also having a very profound and concrete influence on the brain.
It’s a system to mobilize other systems in the brain and body.
That’s what stress really is.
Stress reliever for the whole body
Exercise is a basic human need.
You must exercise for a healthy body.
You are a physical being, designed for natural life, even though modern life is anything but natural.
If you ignore your body’s physical needs, you add unnecessary stress to your life.
Like any predator, a human has keen eyesight, a large brain, and a nimble body to ensnare prey.
A predator that can’t catch prey due to age or infirmity dies.
Is your body nimble?
Could it catch your dinner if your life depended on it?
Walking for 30 minutes 5 days a week is

Just keep in mind that the human body is designed to move.

Give you energy
Exercise delivers oxygen to your body and improves your heart’s circulation, meaning that you can breathe more deeply and do more every day.
Better sex life
No, this is not a Viagra commercial.
Exercise really does improve erectile function in men and increases sexual arousal in women.
Exercise also improves your body image and flexibility, making you more likely to want to hit the sheets.
Exercise works the tension out of your body so you can crash at night with no worries.
Aren’t these great reasons to exercise?
An energetic, sexually fulfilled, happy, and awake person is much more resilient to stress than a slow-sexually frustrated, depressed, and tired one.
